MAINTENANCE: Maintenance of the suspension system involves periodic lubrication of the system itself examining for worn rubber parts, checking or testing for loose or worn tie rod ends, shock absorbers and ball joints, adjusting or replacing wheel bearings as well as checking for tire wear and for leaking shock absorbers or struck cartridges. Substantially loose ball joints can be tested by placing a tire iron under a slightly raised tire and then, while supporting the tire with the other hand, moving the tire iron up and down, feeling for play. Replace any loose ball joints.
